In 2014/15, close to 6 million Australians (34%) aged 18 years and over had high blood pressure (systolic or diastolic blood pressure is ≥140/90 mmHg or taking medication). Of these, more than two thirds (68%) had uncontrolled or unmanaged high blood pressure (not taking medication), representing 4 million adult Australians.

In Australia, the prevalence rate for Secondary hypertension was found to be about over 9% of the population suffering from Secondary hypertension in 2007-08. People who were overweight and with high cholesterol levels were more affected by hypertension it was estimated to be approximately about 18% of the population.

In 2014/15, men were more likely to have uncontrolled or unmanaged high blood pressure than women (24.4% vs. 21.7% respectively), while the proportion of Australians with uncontrolled or unmanaged high blood pressure increased with age.

* Metro residents with hypertension - 30.5 percent

* Regional/rural residents with hypertension - 38.6 per cent

* Percentage of metro residents with unmanaged hypertension - 51.7percent

* Percentage of regional/rural residents with unmanaged hypertension - 36.5percent

We enjoyed hosting the event and hope you walked away with new ideas, inspiration and ambition to promote work in all possible ways.

Conference series llc LTD played host to a diverse panel of key members of the Hypertension community from research lab, industry, academia and financial investment practices, discussing the future of Hypertension specialties. This event was really aimed for examining where the real Hypertension specialties are going in the future and purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for cross fertilization of ideas and development of ideas, in the field of Hypertension.

Focusing on Hypertension & Obesity, Hypertension Risk factors, Hypertension Diagnosis, Gestational Hypertension, Hypertension Management, Case Reports & Hypertension Epidemiology as well, the two days of discussions enabled professionals to gain a perception into the current advances and opened networking opportunities.

The highlights of the meeting were the eponymous lectures, delivered by Nditsheni Ramakuela from University of Venda, South Africa, Christopher Elliott Leman Micro Devices SA, Switzerland, Muhammad Nabeel Dookhun, Nanjing Medical University, China , These talks were of great interest to the general cardiologists and were enormously informative.
